Ex-Big Brother Naija star, singer and guitarist, Deborah Ebun, popularly called Debie-Rise, has revealed how her Dad pardoned her after she sneaked out to the show. Debbie-Rise was one of the contestants that lasted till the last day of the reality show. While in the show, she had told fellow housemates how she ran out of her home because her dad, a pastor, would not let her attend the show. The Kogi-born singer, who has been touring media houses since the end of the reality, said, “Apart from the fact that my father is a pastor, I feel like I’m a typical girl with a good cultural upbringing from the north where parents are very protective of their children or they are just worried about the outside world like the city life. “So, I understood it as to the kind of life he wanted for me. Benue Government Lease Land To Obasanjo Farms For Mango Plantation The Benue Government says it has leased a total of 2,599 hectares of land to Obasanjo Farms for mango plantation and milk production. Lawrence Onoja, Commissioner for Information, while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting on Thursday in Makurdi, said that 2,420 hectares were for the plantation, while 139 hectares were for milk production. Mr. Onoja said that the lease agreement would be reviewed after every five years, adding that a hectare was given out for N10,000. He said that Benue had embraced the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), with the Attorney General, Mike Gusah, detailed to draft a bill to the state assembly to that effect for adoption. He further disclosed that the council had approved the renovation of three dams – Agu in Guma Local Government Area, Ber-Agbum in Ushongo Local Government and Oweto in Agatu Local Government. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has ordered the termination of a multi-billion naira 48-bedroom hotel project in Badagry, just as he blacklisted the company handling the project. The project is currently being promoted as part of measures by the Ambode-led administration to boost tourism within the Badagry axis. The contract for the multi-billion naira hospitality business project was awarded in 2013 to Messrs Anatolia International Limited. A statement issued on by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, quoted the governor as saying  that the decision to terminate the contract followed a resolution taken at the State Executive Council meeting which held, on Wednesday, after an appraisal of progress report on the project. Several weapons, classified as illegal and recovered from an underground bunker in a forest near Gbishe in Katsina-Ala Local Government area of Benue State  were displayed at the Government House in Makurdi. Gbishe is the home of militia leader, Terwase Akwaza popularly known as Ghana who was about a year ago declared wanted by the police in connection with the murder of Senior Special Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom on Special Security, Denen Igbana. ‎South-East Governors on Sunday announced that they would meet with the Federal Government over the various challenging the zone, especially the prolonged detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Governors made the disclosure while addressing journalists after their meeting in Enugu. Chairman of the Forum, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, listed the issues to be discussed to include Kanu’s detention, as well as agitation for Biafra by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, among others. Prospective candidates in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday protested in Makurdi against their inability to register for the examination.The candidates blocked some major roads with bonfire as they marched to the JAMB office located along Inner Ring Road. They also took their protest to the governor’s office at Benue People’s House. The protesters threw stones at the JAMB office before mobile policemen dispersed them.The Guardian learnt that they resorted to the protest because they could not process their registration at the Computer Based Test centres (CBTs) due to insufficient facilities.
