THE MOVEMENT OF IGEDE PEOPLE All the Igede people who have crossed the seven tributaries of river Oyongo, rested at the side of Utukenge in Uwokwu area of Igede land and then moved to a place called Ipinu Igede ( forest of Igede ) a place where Igede people first settled and formed the Igede family who have today re- migrated to form the clans of Igede people are all known AA home based Igede tribe today. There is no doubt that the vast land has few individuals that could live on the land and who are now assimilated by language spoken and culture of the Igede majority too. There were some Igede families whose clan names seemed to disappear and decline due to cultural affiliation by the authorities of the then Igede people. What is popular and Paramount today are the units which Igede people grouped themselves.
