There are 160,000 women and girls living with HIV in Ghana - UNAIDS

A new report by UNAIDS on HIV prevalence in women has  revealed that Ghana is  among countries with the highest prevalence rate in West Africa.  As many as 160,000  women and girls in Ghana are living with the virus, the report said. The 2017 report titled “When women lead, change happens – women advancing the end  of AIDS” provides global statistics on the prevalence of HIV among women across the world. The report also highlights the contributions, challenges, and successes of the UNAIDS in the  fight against HIV/AIDS. According to the report, 18.6 million women and girls are reported to be living with HIV in  the world. The report said women accounted for 51% of people living with HIV worldwide,  but with large regional differences—in western and central Africa, nearly 60% of all people  living with HIV are women. Davido builds home for the little boy singing his song in a viral video (photos)

Davido took to IG to reveal that he has fulfilled his promise of building a home for a fan. Weeks ago, a video of a little boy, Utibe, singing Davido's song "If" went viral and drew  his attention. The person who recorded the video revealed that not only does Utibe not  go to school but has to hunt snails and assist his mother, who was abandoned by her  husband. To make matters worse, his mother was paralysed and had 4 kids depending on her.  They were also living in ramshackle hut made of raffia palms that looked ready to fall  any minute. This drove the good Samaritan into enrolling Utibe into school at Government Central  Primary school Ibeno, Akwa Ibom state. He also revealed that Davido reached out and  has promised to sort out the accommodation for his fan, Utibe and his family. The promise has been fulfilled! See more photos of the home below

We cannot manufacture suspects- Police give update on Abuja female preacher, Eunice Elisha's case

The Police Public Relations Officer, Moshood Jimoh, has given an update on the murder case of 42 year old preacher, Eunice Elisha, who was hacked to death while she was preaching in Abuja on July 9th 2016. 5 step to the top Speaking in an interview with Premium Times, Jimoh said the police cannot confirm whether it has made any arrest or not and then went on to state that the force cannot manufacture suspects in any case. “I won’t tell you that. We cannot manufacture suspects. You know that in murder related cases, and all capital related offences, it usually takes years. At times the suspect may be resting and feeling that they have escaped successfully, but I can tell you that investigation is ongoing and has gone far. You know that the family has relocated. It took a lot of time to get the husband of the deceased to come and testify, after the case was brought here. The matter is being investigated and we will get results very soon.
